It is official my 10 year High School Reunion has a date & time!

A few fond memories of high school now that is has been 10 years! And for those of you who know the story of the After Prom "gotcha" story keep scrolling to see the actual scanned note that was sent to my parents. I may have been a sheltered "good girl" but, I am a good girl who did get caught every once in a great while :) Ah, the joys of growing up and hopefully gaining wisdom and knowledge along the way! And Jen, these pictures show my natural color in high school, I didn't start changing the color to different shades until after I got married.

I am the 5th white suit from the left, freshman year. This would be the year I was introduced to Matt, my hubby, but he was dating some one else and I was busy being a freshman. My best friend since 1st grade (Ordinary Momma)  is 2nd from the left!
Senior picture taken summer of 1998; I changed a little by the time graduation came in May 1999! Check out those Short shorts-I thought I was fat then, I would do ALMOST anything to fit back into those!
My first love, my 1988 Ford Thunderbird I received in 1995. Gotta love a V6 in a smooth sled! I cried the day my dad told me I needed to sell it and get a "more reliable" car for my second year of college. I have so many fond and precious memories in that car! Oh, and I never got a speeding ticket or any citation in this baby!

See the note. I was allowed to be out until 0500, but the understanding was that I was staying at the after prom party until 0430.....oops! Yes, I did disobey my parents, shocker right?

This photo below was my Senior homecoming. Matt and I decided to start dating one week after this photo was taken. The rest is documented history throughout my iweb blog, iphoto, and my blogger blog.

The below photos are from my Freshman through Junior years.

So I added another Thankful Post for today

I am thankful for my sisters and all the experiences we have experienced growing up together.
I am thankful for how our relationships have changed as we are growing into our adult years together. I love you Sarah and Johannah!

I am thankful for my sisters and sisters-in-law! It is so great to spend time with Ginger, Lindsey, and Lauren!

Thankful for a good friend who will laugh with me and not at me!

So you know when you have been traveling for a day and all you need to do is find a potty?

Well Jen and I did. We rushed into the hall and then realized the toilets hanging on the wall were just not quite the bathroom experience we were looking for. We rushed out of the hall way and found the room for women with the little toilets in individual stalls that were just right! We laughed with each other while sitting in our individual stalls, I am sure the ladies in the women's restroom who didn't have our earlier adventure to the toilets hanging on the wall just didn't get it.

I am so grateful and thankful to have a friend whom I can laugh, cry, pour my heart out to, and even gain wisdom from. Thanks Jen, you're the best to find a potty with; along with many other reasons I am blessed to have you as a friend!

Thankful for family

Today I am thankful for family. Though my family is not a perfect sit-com where everyone is perfect (who would want that). I have a family of real people who (including me) have their days of good and bad. I am so grateful to have 2 sisters who have taught me so much while we grew up sharing rooms and bathrooms. I am grateful to have 3 sisters-in-law whom I cherish and cherish every time I get to spend with them. I am grateful for 4 brothers-in-law who I enjoy getting to know. I am grateful for my parents and my parents-in-law. I am so blessed to have such a large family that continues to grow (1 new addition and one on the way!!!)

I am glad that my family is not perfect and has blemishes and sometimes wobbles its way back and forth on mental sanity. This imperfection (along with my personal issues) allows me to realize that the only perfection is God and that I cannot measure up with any deeds or good intentions.

I can take the gift of life and live in the freedom that comes from living in God's word.

Thank goodness for family, for they keep me humble!

Thankful List

I have started this a few days late, but I want to write on paper; I mean type on my computer, what I am thankful for.

Since this is November 11, 2008 and I need to catch up so this is a list:

I am thankful for:

11. the changing color of leaves in the fall

10. the crisp air at this time while crunching fallen leaves under my feet

9. Apple cider, spiced coffees in fall flavors, and hot chocolate

8.Pumpkins - pumpkin pie, carved pumpkins, non-fat pumpkin spiced latte (only 1 pt with WW)

7. Cranberries with yogurt- a sweet and sour wake up your senses as well as a great anti-oxident

6. The election being over! I am thankful to be able to vote!

5. Eating popcorn with M&Ms while watching a great movie snuggled up to my fantastic hubby!

4. My pets- 2 kitty cats and 1 puppy dog!

3. Meeting true real friends whose friendship will last a lifetime

2. Having such a brilliant spouse who encourages me to be the woman God wants me to be

1. Knowing that the coming season has a reason to celebrate. I am thankful for God sending his only Son to the world!

Back to reality

It's time to start my day at the gym before I go to work this afternoon. I was able to get a run in during my trip to see my now "real" friends, but I am sure Michelle is going to kick my butt! Oh well, the success is showing up and doing my best instead of sitting and doing nothing. If you haven't read my posts from www.rebekahskillen.com I will update you:

My weight started creeping up in the last few years even with my attempts of eating right and exercising.

I had a mild success of losing 10 pounds last year; just to gain it back within a few months

I started running and training to be able to run/jog 5Ks in Feb/April 2008

I started Weight Watchers in August 2008

I jogged/ran my first 5K in September 2008 with my super spouse!

I jogged/ran/conversed at my second 5K with my middle sis Jojo in October 2008

I have lost almost 14 pounds as of Thurs Nov 6th 2008!

I continue to meet with my trainer Michelle weekly to voluntarily/pay to push me and keep me going.

So, as the weather gets colder I have to stay persistent so when it starts to get warmer I can sign up for more races!
